Community
Avon is the fastest growing community in Indiana. The growth can be attributed to a number of factors including its outstanding educational system of four star schools and public library, business-friendly location and climate, a wealth of retail and shopping alternatives and first-class parks and recreational facilities and programs.
Incorporated just recently in 1995, Avon developed around the intersection of a major US highway (US 36) and a major Indiana roadway (SR 267).
Avon is the only community in Hendricks County designated as a Tree City USA and was the first community in Hendricks County to enact an ordinance to create smoke free workplaces.
