Avon is uniquely positioned to provide convenient access to a variety of transportation services. The new Ronald Reagan Parkway is being constructed in segments to connect I-70 to I-74 through the eastern part of the Town. It will have direct access to Indianapolis International Airport when it is completed.
The Town is in the process of constructing over $11 million of road projects. The projects are part of the Go! Avon road initiative and will include 5 roundabouts and a major improvement at US 36 and Dan Jones Road.
Interstate Travel
Conveniently located on US 36 just west of the Indianapolis beltway (I-465), Indianapolis and I-465, Avon lies near the the intersection of three major interstate highways: I-74, I-70 and I-65. The following road construction projects are currently underway by INDOT:

CSX at Avon Yard is a major switchyard for CSX (formerly Conrail) that provides a wealth of freight services for Avon area businesses and commuter passengers.
