Avon's explosive growth since 1990 can be attributed to a number of factors including its outstanding
educational system and
public library, business-friendly location and climate, a
wealth of retail and shopping alternatives and first-class parks and recreational facilities and programs.
Incorporated just recently in 1996, Avon developed around the intersection of a major US highway (US 36) and a major Indiana roadway
(SR 267) (see regional map).
