Beginning in 2015, the Avon Police Department began participating in the National Night Out Against Crime community event.  This event takes place on the first Tuesday in August of every year and is a completely free family event.  In only our third year participating in the event, our staff facilitated the gathering for over 4,000 people in 2017!

Organized by our administrative staff, this annual event has included:

  • Free food and drinks
  • Free cotton candy
  • Free snow cones
  • Free gun locks
  • Dunk Booth
  • Free unwanted medication/drug disposal
  • Police equipment and vehicle displays
  • Over 60 area businesses/vendors
  • Competitive cycling game (Nine13sports)
  • K9 demonstrations
  • Drone demonstrations
  • Bounce houses
  • Free door prizes from area businesses
  • Facepainting
  • Kids games and free prizes
  • Avon Fire Department equipment display

In partnership with local business include Wal Mart, Pepsi Co., Lowes, Hendricks Regional Health, Avon Public Safety Foundation, Coca Cola, Old National Bank of Avon, TR Medjeski Logistics, Citizens Bank of Avon, and many more, this event is held in the effort to establish working relations between our employees and the community that we serve.  You can follow us on social media to learn more about this event every year.  Next years event will be held on August 1st 2017.
