APPLICATIONS MAY BE COMPLETED ONLINE AT WWW.IN.GOV/ISP. CLICK ON FIREARMS APPLICATION. WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR FINGER PRINTING, YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE AVAILABLE.

FOR A 4 YEAR PERMIT:
$30 Money Order Made Payable to STATE OF INDIANA
$10 Cash or Money Order Made Payable to AVON POLICE DEPARTMENT
FOR A LIFETIME PERSONAL PROTECTION PERMIT WITH NO VALID GUN LICENSE:
$75 Money Order Made Payable to STATE OF INDIANA
$50 Cash or Money Order Made Payable to AVON POLICE DEPARTMENT
FOR A LIFETIME PERSONAL PROTECTION PERMIT WITH A VALID GUN LICENSE:
$60 Money Order Made Payable to STATE OF INDIANA
$40 Cash or Money Order Made Payable to AVON POLICE DEPARTMENT

Please note that after doing a local background check, applications are sent to the State of Indiana, Indiana State Police, Firearms Division, for processing. Please allow 8-9 weeks for processing.
Firearm Licensing
Applicants for firearm permits are by appointment only. Please call 317-272-4485 - Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for an appointment for the firearm application process. If the address on your driver license is NOT within the city limits, you must bring a utility bill in your name, or a similar document that proves your residency. If you are renewing your gun permit, you must be within 30 days of the expiration of your current permit to be able to renew.
