BUILDING PERMIT ACTIVITY

 

The Monthly Report for July 2008 indicates the following activity:

  • Forty-two (42) Building Permits issued;
  • Reported Construction Value of all activity is $8,979,600.00; and,
  • Collected Revenue totals are $10,355.21 (see attached report).

CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION ACTIVITIES

 

During the period of July 1, 2008, to July 31, 2008, Mike Tulli completed a total of 123 inspections, including 23 Building Code citations, 2 Code Enforcement letters, and removed 22 signs from the Right-of-Ways (also used 1 week of vacation).  Erin Mulryan completed a total of 377 inspections, including 44 Building Code citations, 1 Code Enforcement letter, and removed 81 signs from the Right-of-Ways.  Ryan Cannon, Public Works Director, removed 1 sign from the Right-of-Ways.  Sam Paledino, Assistant Public Works Director, removed 10 signs from the Right-of-Ways.

 

ITEMS OF NOTE

 

1.      These are some of the continuing construction projects: the Town of Avon Police Station, the new Ace Hardware building along State Road 267, the new Avon Middle School, a new building for Avon Self Storage, Terry Lee Honda in Avon Marketplace, the new Chase Bank branch in front of Wal-Mart, a new office building in Park Place, the Adult Learning Center & Gymnasium expansion to Avon High School, Enterprise Leasing in Avon Station, Sonic in Meijer Plaza,  Dunkin Donuts in Gables of Avon, QDoba Mexican Grill and a dentist's office (Robert Baehner, D.D.S.) in Raceway Crossing, three (3) expansion projects and the entire East Tower 3rd Floor finish to Clarian West Hospital, and a new multi-tenant building on Lot #5, Gables of Avon. 

2.      New projects slated to start this month include the new River Birch Elementary School, the Goddard School in Avon Marketplace, PetSmart in Raceway Plaza, in front of Menard's outdoor Lumber Yard, a new National City Bank branch in Raceway Crossing, the Avon Community Church of God on North Dan Jones Road, an office addition to Phoenix Fabricators, Buttons and Bows II Day Care in Beechwood Centre, a picnic shelter for Avon United Methodist Church, and a large remodel project on the for a physical therapy and pediatrics office on the second floor of Hendricks Regional Health.

3.      NEW ITEM: The Building Department currently monitors 72 vacant homes in all areas of the Town's jurisdiction.  Homes and pools are monitored for security and vandalism, and this involves coordination with the Avon Police Department, the Washington Township Avon Fire Department, and the Washington Township Trustee's office.  This activity also involves securing fences, pools, unlocked exterior doors and windows, as well as working with mortgage companies to ensure that these sites are secure.

4.      The Buildable Lots Spreadsheet, which tracks permit activity for each neighborhood within the corporate limits of the Town of Avon as new Building Permits are issued is include in this report.
