BUILDING PERMIT ACTIVITY

 

The Monthly Report for November 2008 indicates the following activity:

  • Twenty-one (21) Building Permits issued;
  • Reported Construction Value of all activity is $1,664,700.00; and,
  • Collected Revenue totals are $3,932.80 (see attached report).

CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION ACTIVITIES

 

During the period of November 1, 2008, to November 30, 2008, Mike Tulli completed a total of 115 inspections, including 24 Building Code citations and 2 Stop Work Orders.  Erin Mulryan completed a total of 205 inspections, including 28 Building Code citations, removed 4 signs from the Right-of-Ways, and sent 1 Code Enforcement Letter.

 

ITEMS OF NOTE

 

1.      These are some of the continuing construction projects: the new Avon Middle School, the new River Birch Elementary School, a new building for Avon Self Storage, Terry Lee Honda & the Goddard School in Avon Marketplace, a new office building and the Kingsway Dental Office on Park Place Boulevard, the conversion of the old Smokey Bones building to an IHOP, a picnic shelter for Avon United Methodist Church, a large remodel project for a physical therapy and pediatrics office on the second floor of Hendricks Regional Health, the Adult Learning Center, Cafeteria, & Gymnasium expansion to Avon High School,  Massage Envy and a new National City Bank branch in Raceway Crossing, PetSmart in Raceway Plaza, the Avon Community Church of God on North Dan Jones Road, Buttons and Bows II Day Care in Beechwood Centre, three (3) expansion projects and the entire East Tower 3rd Floor finish to Clarian West Hospital, and Our Shepherd Lutheran Church on County Road 100 North. 

2.      New projects slated to start this month include the new Fairfield Inn in Eden Gate, Moe and Johnny's in Westover Commons, a fire damage repair on Production Drive, Dr. Whipple's office expansion on the second floor of Hendricks Regional Health, and a classroom remodeling project for Crossroads Church.

3.      The Building Department continues to monitor 24 vacant homes in all areas of the Town's jurisdiction.  Homes and pools are monitored for security and vandalism, and this involves coordination with the Avon Police Department, the Washington Township Avon Fire Department, and the Washington Township Trustee's office.  This activity also involves securing fences, pools, unlocked exterior doors and windows, as well as working with mortgage companies to ensure that these sites are secure.

4.      The Buildable Lots Spreadsheet, which tracks permit activity for each neighborhood within the corporate limits of the Town of Avon as new Building Permits are issued is include in this report.
