BUILDING PERMIT ACTIVITY

 

The Monthly Report for April 2009 indicates the following activity:

  • Sixty (60) Building Permits issued;
  • Reported Construction Value of all activity is $10,217,250.00; and,
  • Collected Revenue totals are $22,927.02 (see attached report).

CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION ACTIVITIES

 

During the period of April 1, 2009, to April 30, 2009, Mike Tulli completed a total of 268 inspections, including 36 Building Code citations and 1 Stop Work order.  Erin Mulryan completed a total of 104 inspections, including 15 Building Code citations, the removal of 2 illegal signs from the Right-of-Ways, and 1 Code Enforcement Letter.  Sam Paledino, DPW, removed illegal 4 signs from the Right-of-Ways.  New this month is a spreadsheet that indicates the total number of field inspections done by inspector in a year-to-date format.  

 

ITEMS OF NOTE

 

1.      These are some of the continuing construction projects: the new Avon Middle School North, the new River Birch Elementary School, remodeling projects for Maple & White Oak Elementary Schools, the multi-tenant building at the Southwest corner of Raceway Road and U.S. 36, the new multi-tenant building immediately to the West of Mike's Carwash, tenant finishes for The Vitamin Shoppe & Aspen Dental in the new multi-tenant building at the Southwest corner of Raceway Road & U.S. 36, tenant finishes for Health Spot Vitamins & Little Caesar's Pizza at the Northwest corner of Raceway Road & U.S. 36, Sherwin-Williams Paint remodeling project in the old M.A.B. Paint building in Avon Business Center, an expansion to the multi-tenant building behind Tasty's on U.S. 36, the Adult Learning Center, Cafeteria, & Gymnasium expansion to Avon High School,  PetSmart and The Roomplace Store in Raceway Plaza, the BP conversion project to an AM/PM Store in Avon Commerce Park, the Avon Community Church of God on North Dan Jones Road, Buttons and Bows II Day Care in Beechwood Centre, one (1) expansion project & remodel to Clarian West Hospital, Our Shepherd Lutheran Church on County Road 100 North, the new Fairfield Inn in Eden Gate, and a classroom remodeling project for Crossroads Church.

2.      New projects slated to start this and/or next month include Kids-R-Kids Daycare in Turner Trace, the Avon South Middle School renovation, interior renovation for the Indiana Department of Child Services in Westridge Office Park, and a storage addition & interior remodel project of the Wal-Mart Supercenter.

3.      The Building Department continues to monitor 34 vacant homes in all areas of the Town's jurisdiction.  Homes and pools are monitored for security and vandalism, and this involves coordination with the Avon Police Department, the Washington Township Avon Fire Department, and the Washington Township Trustee's office.   This activity also involves securing fences, pools, unlocked exterior doors and windows, as well as working with mortgage companies to ensure that these sites are secure.

4.      The Buildable Lots Spreadsheet, which tracks permit activity for each neighborhood within the corporate limits of the Town of Avon as new Building Permits are issued is include in this report.
