Construction will begin on September 21 for improvements to the US 36/Dan Jones Intersection. Project will include lane additions on Dan Jones, signal modifications, curbs, drainage, sidewalks, tree plantings and lights. The intersection will remain open throughout the project but lane restrictions will occur. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. The project may be under construction until December 1st. Any remaining work after that date will be completed by June 30, 2010. Federal funds are paying for 80% of the cost of the project. The total cost of the project is approximately $990,000. The Town's share will be paid from the Tax Increment Finance Disrict Fund.
