BUILDING PERMIT ACTIVITY

 

The Monthly Report for December 2010 indicates the following activity:

  • Twenty-eight (28) Building Permits issued;
  • Reported Construction Value of all activity is $4,083,344.00; and,
  • Collected Revenue totals are $10,119.80 (see attached report).

CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION ACTIVITIES

 

During the period of December 1, 2010, to December 30, 2010, Mike Tulli completed a total of 214 inspections, including 17 Building Code citations.  Also included is a spreadsheet that indicates the total number of field inspections done by inspector in a year-to-date format.

 

 ITEMS OF NOTE

 

1.      These are some of the continuing construction projects: a shell expansion to the multi-tenant building behind Tasty's on U.S. 36, Washington Township's community building in Station Hill (site work only), an addition/remodel project for the existing shelter building at Washington Township Park, the Good Feet store in Rockville Pointe by Mike's Car Wash, an office remodel for Cardiac Rehabilitation at Clarian West, the HRH/YMCA project, two (2) tenant spaces in the new HRH/YMCA building, a lease space in Avon Commerce Park for Avant Gard Salon, Moody Meats' expansion, Countryside Meadows Nursing Facility on Dan Jones Road, Teppanyaki Boy Restaurant at Avon Creek's multi-tenant building, an office renovation at Menards, and the new office building and storage facility in CSX's Big Four Yard.

2.      New projects slated to start this and/or next month includes a storage area addition at Mears Machine, the new Goodyear Service Center in Meijer Park, and the addition/renovation project at the Avon Vet Clinic.

3.      The Planning & Building Department continues to monitor 33 vacant homes in all areas of the Town's jurisdiction.  Homes and pools are monitored for security and vandalism, and this involves coordination with the Avon Police Department, the Washington Township Avon Fire Department, and the Washington Township Trustee's office.   This activity also involves securing fences, pools, unlocked exterior doors and windows, as well as working with mortgage companies to ensure that these sites are secure.

4.      The Buildable Lots Spreadsheet, which tracks permit activity for each neighborhood within the corporate limits of the Town of Avon as new Building Permits are issued, is included in this report.
