On November 20, 2006, Town officials held a Ground Breaking Ceremony for the new Avon Police Station. Click on thumbnail pictures to view larger images.

Council Member Eva Yackey and Terry Burnworth with Pyramid Architects began the Ground Breaking Ceremony with a short speech.

Staff members and Council Members were in attendance for the big day.

Assistant Police Chief Bill Weems and Building Commissioner Mike Tulli were in good spirits at the Ground Breaking.

Once the winter weather broke, construction began full speed. After the basement was completed during the winter and early spring months, wall construction commenced in early May.

Exterior walls

Roof trusses were delivered on May 14th, and contractors began setting them on the walls on May 15th.

Trusses and roof decking are almost complete.

The exterior brick is almost done.

Brick is complete.

Interior drywall in progress.

Landscaping and finish grading are near completion.
