By Executive Order 4-03-20 from Council President Greg Zusan, the Avon Town Hall, Police Station, and Town Court are closed to the public until further notice.

Town Hall, Police Station and Town Court Closed to Public Until Further Notice

In order to comply with the federal and state guidelines to slow the spread of the Coronavirus, the Avon Town Hall, Police Station and Town Court will be closed to the public until further notice. The closure will continue based on guidelines issued by the Center for Disease Control or the State of Indiana. Updates will be posted at www.avongov.org and social media.

All public meetings have also been cancelled until April 6.

“The Town Council wants our staff and public to remain safe and free of the coronavirus, “ said Council President Greg Zusan, “ and the closure of the Town Hall, Police Station and Town Court in accordance with federal guidelines will help us accomplish this goal.”

Core services of the Town will continue with non public safety staff working from home during the closure. Police officers will continue to provide 24 hour protection of our community. Non emergency police calls will be responded to by phone or email when appropriate. Building permit submittals and building inspections will occur by appointment.

Residents may call the Town Hall at 317-272-0948 to leave a message and a staff member will return the call. Residents can also use the dial by name feature at 317-272-0948 to leave a message for a staff member who will return the call.

Residents that need help finding social and community resources may send an email to help@avongov.org or leave a message at 317-272-0948 with the Planning Department.

For police inquiries, residents may leave a message at 317-272-4485.

Residents are encouraged to help the slow the spread of the coronavirus over days by following the guidelines established by the CDC including working from home, staying home if sick, avoiding gatherings of more than 10 people, avoiding discretionary travel, shopping trips and social visits and not visiting nursing homes. Avon Police Department & Town Court:

The Police Station and Town Court are closed to the public at this time.

The Town Court has cancelled the April 6th Court date and Town Judge Jeremy Eglen has extended deadlines to pay tickets by 45 days.

The April 6th Court cases have been continued to the May 4th court date.

The Police Department has suspended VIN checks, vehicle lockouts, and fingerprinting. Crash reports can be obtained at www.buycrash.com.
